Background Information Attorney Kohn has ben involved with families in crisis situations for over 25 years. Her legal practice focuses exclusively on family law related issues. Attorney Kohn is the co-author of Answering Your Questions About Guardians Ad Litem in Family Court, published by the Wisconsin State Bar, and had has served on State and County committees involving Guardian ad Litem issues. Attorney Kohn has been involved in writing local court rules for the family law courts in Milwaukee and Ozaukee County. She has lectured on family law related matters to attorneys, physicians, and paralegals. She became one of the first ten attorneys in Wisconsin to be trained in Collaborative Law in Washington, D.C. and the first in her law school graduating class to have published caselaw. Attorney Kohn spent over 10 years as a member of a downtown law firm prior to establishing her own legal practice closer to her home in Mequon. Attorney Kohn was involved for nine years with the Milwaukee County Department of Family and Children Services working on issues from a social perspective involving families and children in a crisis situation, including: adoption, child abuse, foster care, and juvenile delinquency. She was instrumental in establishing the child daycare payment system which is still implemented by Milwaukee County.
